1-7 Ritual Sacrifices 

Brief typology of the five offerings:

•  Burnt Offering (Lev 1): Complete consecration and surrender to God. Pictures Christ’s total devotion to the Father’s will, even to death on the cross (a “sweet aroma” — Eph 5:2). The whole animal is consumed, symbolizing full acceptance. 

•  Grain/Meal Offering (Lev 2): The perfection of Christ’s life and character (fine flour without leaven). Represents thanksgiving and the fruits of a dedicated life.

•  Peace/Fellowship Offering (Lev 3): Reconciliation and joyful communion between God, the offerer, and others. Points to the peace Christ made through His blood (Rom 5:1; Eph 2:14).

•  Sin Offering (Lev 4–5:13): Atonement for unintentional sins and purification of the sanctuary. Typifies Christ bearing our sin and its defilement (2 Cor 5:21).

•  Guilt/Trespass Offering (Lev 5:14–6:7): Reparation for specific wrongs (with restitution). Emphasizes Christ’s work addressing particular sins and making full amends.
